Consuming Fire- Profound Reflections About God
God is a consuming fire, fiercely loyal to us, burning through any impurity that hinders love.
“ … for our “God is a consuming fire.”
God’s love is consuming, much like a fire. Strike a match and you can watch the whole match head burn. But the fire—like God’s love—does not stop there. The fire eventually consumes the entire matchstick. God’s love is like that.
God’s Love Permeates All
God wants you to know what it’s like to be consumed by His love. There is nothing you can put up as a barrier that can withstand God’s love; His love permeates all. Everything succumbs to His fire—His unrelenting love and loyalty to you.
Though fire is often considered a destructive force, we must not forget the role of fire in the process of refining and removing impurities. Such is the way of God’s love. When we accept the fire of God’s love into our hearts, we are refined, polished, and perfected in the process.
Consider This:
When was the last time you knew a love that felt like a consuming fire?
In what other ways can fire be constructive rather than destructive?
